RAM HOLDINGS BERHAD
Corporate Social Responsibility

As the country’s corporate culture continues to evolve and mature, CSR has become an increasingly common and integral part of many companies’ repertoires. In our constant quest for excellence, we are also mindful of our social responsibilities. Through our CSR work, we aim to lend an ear, a hand and a heart to the infirm, the young and the underpriviledged. We strive to create a more caring community amid a greener environment. At RAM, we believe in giving back and contributing to the community at large. At RAM, it’s about giving. Watch this space for more information on our CSR efforts.

Our Initiatives
Race-A-Maze

In line with RAM’s 20th anniversary celebrations, we invite our clients to join us in running the Race-A-Maze. This represents our first corporate social responsibility event, through which we will raise funds for the Spastic Children Association of Selangor and Federal Territory as well as the Taman Megah Handicapped and Disabled Children Centre (for further details of these centres, click here).

The pertinent details for the event are as follows:

Date   :  13 November 2010
Time  :  7.30am–1.00pm
Venue:  Karyaneka, Level 3, Bangunan Sri Anjung, Kuala Lumpur Craft Complex, Section 63, Jalan Conlay, Jalan Conlay Kuala Lumpur (for location map, click here)

This is certainly not your average race - be prepared to put your wits to the test as we challenge you both physically and mentally. As you race through the Klang Valley, you will be pitting your team’s efforts, wits, strength (physical and mental) and fears against the other teams’. A word of warning: we may well challenge your sense of humour too!

We invite you to pledge at least one team for this noble cause, with a minimum donation of RM2,000 per team.

Strike while the iron is hot - submit your entry forms now (for registration form, click here).
Closing date : 25 October 2010 OR upon reaching 50 teams.

a. Spastic Children Association of Selangor and Federal Territory
This centre caters for both children and adults who suffer from cerebral palsy. The centre provides speech therapy and physiotherapy, as well as various skills. The centre seeks to raise RM18 million to expand its existing building to 9–storey building, along with other minor renovation work.

b. Taman Megah Handicapped and Disabled Children Centre
The centre currently houses some 130 to 140 residents (both children and adults) in 5 separate houses in Petaling Jaya; two of the 5 houses are rented. The centre is supported by a team of about 30 people. The centre recently acquired a parcel of land where it intends to construct a 6-storey building to house all the residents under the same roof. The construction cost is estimated at about RM6 million.
