Suhnylla (BSc Hons (Econs), FCCA), an investment and offshore banker, is registered as Associate Member of Persatuan Kewangan Malaysia (PKM) or Forex Association of Malaysia, and is a Director at Commerz Capital Pte Ltd (Hedge Fund Advisory/Management Company). Suhnylla received her degree, BSC (Hons), in Monetary Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Sciences (LSE) and subsequently studied Japanese at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), U.K. Having completed her stint with KPMG Peat Marwick, she is additionally registered as a Chartered Accountant and fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and a Corporate Finance Faculty (CF) member of the Institute of Chartered Accountant England and Wales, ICAEW. She has recently been recognized as an accredited trainer for the Securities & Investment Institute (SII), UK syllabus and the Investment Administration Qualification (IAQ ™).

Suhnylla is a member of the global 100 Women in Hedge Funds, an association of professional women who have built financial services careers in and around the hedge fund industry. She was recently recognized into the International WHO’s WHO Historical Society ™ and inducted into the 1928 registered, International WHO’s WHO of Professionals ™. She is additionally registered as a member of the Investment Management Association of Singapore (IMAS).

Prior to this, Suhnylla has had in excess of 15 years of extensive experience in the financial services industry, both onshore and offshore having worked with the Arab-Malaysian Banking Group, HSBC Bank (M) Berhad and ABN AMRO Bank Debt Origination, Global Financial Markets Malaysia, when she left as Assistant Vice President. She subsequently joined a software solutions company as Vice President and acted as Managing Director, Asia Pacific for the American Program Bureau prior to joining Commerz Capital International Pte. Ltd. Her responsibilities have included participation as pioneer member in the set up of fixed income & debt origination activity for both HSBC and ABN AMRO, including active advisory and structuring of bond and derivative products, and addressing various audit and risk management issues for corporate clients.

Suhnylla acts as Course Director and works closely with RAM Holdings Berhad (formerly known as Rating Agency Malaysia Berhad) (www.ram.com.my). She has trained and consulted with professionals and bankers throughout Asia Pacific, from financial institutions such as ABN AMRO, Maybank, Aseambankers, Bumi Commerce, Public Bank, Perwira Affin, RHB, Southern Bank, CIMB, Development Bank of Singapore, UOB, the AmBank Group, including regulators like the Securities Commission of Malaysia, Bank Negara Malaysia (Central Bank), BAPEPAM of Indonesia (Securities Commission) and Bank of Central Asia, among others. Suhnylla also acts as a Course Director to the Bursa Malaysia (formerly Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (KLSE))’s accredited Director’s Continuing Education Programme (CEP).

Suhnylla has written articles on development of the bonds market and scenario planning strategies in publications like The Edge and The Business Times, Malaysia, and has wide-ranging experience as a consultant in the fields of financing in fixed income and derivatives, risk management & corporate governance for structured products.
