Caryn Low, an experienced corporate, commercial and investment banker is currently a risk consultant and course director with Valoris Sdn Bhd, a training and business consultancy company.
Caryn started her career with Malaysian Industrial Estates Sdn Bhd as a Project Officer evaluating corporate credits before joining the banking arena. Caryn comes with a wealth of banking experience with over 14 years of corporate/commercial/investment banking experience. Ms Caryn started her banking career in Citigroup where she managed a portfolio of Japanese clients. She was also one of the pioneer members in the Corporate Finance Analysis and Strategies department of Citigroup Kuala Lumpur which focused on credit/risk assessment and reviews for its conglomerates and financial institutions customers.
Caryn subsequently moved on to a relationship manager role responsible for the business development and budget targets of a portfolio of corporate banking clients She played a key role in the marketing and structuring of various types of loan products and debt restructuring for credit intensive and challenging corporates. Her last position before she left Citigroup was as the Head of Commercial Banking Risk where she headed up a team responsible for approving commercial bank credits, collateral management, early warning and remedial/restructuring, credit administration, portfolio management and documentations for Citigroup’s Commercial Banking customers.
Caryn then joined Affin Investment Bank in 2006 as Head of Research tasked with the initiation and set up of its Investment Banking Research which provided in-depth analytical reports on industries and fixed income bond credit analysis. Prior to joining Valoris, she was the Head of Private Debt Securities/Fixed Income Investment Department managing the AFS/HTM bond portfolio of the bank.
