
Craig is Director of Orange Training & Consultancy, an Asia Pacific’s leading training provider to the banking, financial and corporate sector.
He started his investment banking career with Samuel Montagu, a UK merchant bank in 1982 where he built on his previous accountancy background. In 1986 he moved to S-E-Banken (Enskilda Securities) as Head of the FRN back-office department, moving two years later to be Fund Manager responsible for the Banks’ internal and discretionary external FRN portfolios with total asset values of $1 billion. In 1991, he was managing the SEB-LIFE & SKANDIFOND multi-currency fixed income mutual funds providing daily market recommendations for asset allocation and formulating hedging strategies with active use of derivative instruments.
In 1994, Craig moved to Nikko Europe where he controlled the FRN/Repo team trading LIBOR-based assets together with a$1 billion ECP funding programme. In addition, he was responsible for pricing new issues with the debt-origination groups in Europe, Asia Pacific and the USA.
By 1997, as Director for Credit Arbitrage he ran an eight-man team exploiting spread anomalies in the FRN, Swaps & Emerging markets. He also controlled an extended Fixed/FRN subordinated book with exposure to illiquid/distressed debt using vanilla, swapped/structured assets; and the assignment and monitoring of strategic credit structures.
Craig’s exposure to regulatory capital management started from the inception of the BIS and the later European CAD regulations. He has have covered all aspects of the subject in his training courses and recently he delivered a fully updated BIS II course (BIS Nov 2005 release) for the Hong Kong Securities and Finance Commission (HKSFC).
Continuing his own professional development, Craig completed his MBA in London with major emphasis on strategy projects involving SAB Miller and Kirin Brewery.
