RAM Sustainability Sdn Bhd (RAM Sustainability) now provides wider environmental, social and governance (ESG) analytical coverage for up to 102 Malaysian corporations and financial institutions through its R1ESGo™ Entity Reports.
“RAM Sustainability is committed to expanding its analytical coverage to support sustainable finance and growing investor demand for more granular Malaysia-centric ESG research,” says Promod Dass, CEO of RAM Sustainability.
The R1ESGo™ Entity Reports – which evaluate industry and entity ESG risks - feature Bursa-listed companies and fixed income issuers across various industries, including financial services, mining, oil & gas, plantation, real estate, and consumer products.
The framework for R1ESGo™ ratings considers the relevance, impact and materiality of sector specific sustainability issues and risks, management evaluation, mitigation strategies, and control of inherent industry ESG risks. The ratings also consider any other factors that may impact an entity’s reputation, financial or business profile.
RAM Sustainability is the first ASEAN-based provider of sustainability ratings and second opinions and has the distinction of being the first Registered Observer of the International Capital Market Associations’ Green Bond Principles (GBP), Social Bond Principles (SBP) and Sustainability Bond Guidelines in ASEAN. It is also a member of the Advisory Council to the GBP and SBP Executive Committee for two consecutive years. On 12 August 2020, RAM Sustainability became an Approved Verifier for the certification of climate bonds under the Climate Bonds Standard & Certification Scheme after having been awarded the status by the Climate Bonds Standards Board.
