RAM Ratings Wins GIFA Championship Award 2025 for Islamic Financial Ratings

RAM Rating Services Berhad (“RAM”) has once again been recognised on the global stage, winning the GIFA Championship Award (Islamic Financial Ratings) 2025 at the prestigious Global Islamic Finance Awards (GIFA), held recently. 

The annual the GIFA Awards celebrate institutions and individuals who demonstrate excellence, innovation, and impact in advancing Islamic finance worldwide. This recognition cements RAM’s standing as the world’s leading Islamic rating agency, consistently setting benchmarks for analytical rigour, credibility, and thought leadership in Shariah-compliant finance.

“Winning the GIFA Championship Award for the second consecutive year, and being recognised for the fifth year running across different categories, is a testament to our leadership in Islamic ratings,” said Julie Ng, RAM Rating’s Chief Executive Officer. “Today, RAM has 93% rating coverage of Malaysia’s financial institutions including nearly all the Islamic banks, the country’s sole takaful reinsurer and the two largest Shariah compliant cooperative banks. In 2024, RAM rated 46% of the RM127.6 billion raised in Malaysia’s debt capital market, of which 77% comprised sukuk.
